EMDR Trauma Treatment Center
The EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Trauma Treatment Center (TTC) is a short-term (up to 11 months), sliding scale treatment service for adults. Treatment is informed by the integration of EMDR with psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Therapists in the EMDR Trauma Treatment Center are licensed mental health practitioners trained in EMDR and supervised by experienced EMDR practitioners who are certified as EMDRIA (EMDR International Association) Consultants. While EMDR is the primary treatment modality, supervisors are also trained in additional trauma-informed models that include Somatic Experiencing (SE), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
At this time, treatment is offered virtually. The EMDR TTC follows NIP’s academic calendar and has optimal availability between September and early March.
Treatment in the EMDR TTC begins with a consultation. This allows us to determine whether EMDR is a treatment that may be helpful to you and whether NIP is the appropriate provider of this service. If EMDR is determined to be the optimal treatment option for you, you will be assigned to a therapist. If we determine that your needs are better served by another type of treatment or facility, we will provide you with relevant referrals.
Please review our fees page before filling out the following confidential information. A clinician will reach out to you within 48 hours. Please note that completing the initial consultation does not guarantee placement with an NIP therapist, nor is the fee refundable, as it is payment for the consultation service.
While NIP cannot accept Medicare or Medicaid, we do accept Medicare Advantage. If you have regular Medicare or Medicaid, please call 1-888-NYC-WELL for referrals.
IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT HARMING YOURSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE, PLEASE CALL 911 FOR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE. If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
If you do not wish to submit your information online, please contact the Trauma Treatment Center at (212) 582-1566 ext. 8713.
