Hello and thank you for your interest in our program!
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of demand for EMDR services at NIP, we have an extensive waitlist at this time; as a result we are temporarily closing our Intake Department and encourage you to reach out to us in July or August towards connecting you with a therapist in September.
EMDR Treatment Center
NIP's EMDR Treatment Center is part of our Training Institute; therefore there are some limitations to note in order to help you decide whether to seek treatment here. Because the training institute follows an academic calendar, wait times will most likely be shortest between September and January and longest between February and July. You are always welcome to come in for an initial consultation to help you determine if it makes sense for you to be placed on our waitlist for a therapist. Please see below for a current estimate of wait times.
IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT HARMING YOURSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE, PLEASE CALL 911 FOR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE.
Average wait time for an initial consultation: 2-3 months
After the initial consultation, the current wait time to be assigned for a daytime therapist: 2-3 months
After the initial consultation, the current wait time to be assigned for an evening therapist: 2-3 months
The consultation interview will allow us to determine whether EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a treatment that may be helpful to you, and if NIP is the appropriate provider of this service. The fee for initial consultation is $175. You may pay this fee out of pocket or use your insurance provider. Please note that completing the initial consultation does not guarantee placement with an NIP therapist, nor is the fee refundable, as it is payment for the consultation service.
If NIP’s EMDR service is determined to be the most helpful treatment option for you, you will be placed on our waiting list for the next available therapist. If we determine that your needs are better served by another type of treatment or facility, we will give you referrals.
If we place you on our wait list, you are not yet considered a patient of NIP. If you feel that you need treatment earlier than we can provide, please call 1-888-NYC-WELL to receive a referral or to talk to a mental health professional sooner. If at any point you feel you’re experiencing a psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Unfortunately, NIP cannot accept Patients With Medicare or Medicaid. Please call 1-888-NYC-WELL for referrals.
Please review our fees page. If you are still interested in services at NIP, please fill out the following confidential information. A clinician will reach out to you within 48 hours.
If you do not wish to submit your information online, please contact the Trauma Treatment Center at (212) 582-1566 ext. 8713.
